Patients with unstable cervical spines, or patients having spines with advanced degenerative changes, are advised only to use this device with the consent of their doctor.

As with any treatment, good judgment should be exercised. Should symptoms flair, the regimen should be discontinued until it can be determined that the patient has sufficient healing or capacity for the exercises.

Unstable cervical spine, spinal cancer or infection,, hemophilia, blood clotting disorders including anti-coagulant therapy, severe osteoperosis, a history of stroke or cerebro-vascular accident, "drop-attacks", loss of conciousness, dizziness/vertigo or visual disturbance due to head position, advanced spinal degeneration, surgical fixation of the spine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to use the CR every day?
No, you can use the CR as needed but most users love the way it makes them feel and do the exercises one to two times per day as needed.

Can you overdo the exercises?
Yes. If one has a sore neck to begin with you should go slow and do only a few exercises per day or rest and ice (consult your doctor) until soreness, neck and back pain is significantly diminished before beginning the exercise. No more than twenty extension and twenty retractions should be done in a one day period.

Can I use the CR restorer if I have previously injured my neck or have a known health condition that would place me at risk if I were to use the device?
No. If you have any doubts about your ability to use the CR check with the listed contraindications on this page and with your doctor.

How does the Curve Restorer work?
The Curve Restorer comprises an elastic strap that is pulled into the mid rearward neck as the user grasps the two forward handles. Pulling with a light force of a few pounds, the user is able to stretch the neck forward slightly, allowing the two rearward curves to contact the head and shoulder region. At this point, a series of exercises are performed against resistance coils to strengthen the major muscles of the neck and upper back.

As the elastic strap is stretched into the spine a more normal 'lordotic' or forward neck posture is produced. While in this position, simultaneous exercise strengthens and promotes postural improvement and significantly increases the strength, tone and flexibility of spinal muscles. The Curve Restorer is the ultimate tool for superb spinal rehabilitation and spinal curve improvement. As little as ten minutes of daily exercise is sufficient to strengthen the major muscles of the neck and upper back and improve spinal posture.

An education and instructional video is included with each unit to teach the exercises.
